[Women's Indoor Track & Field] Lady Cougars Track & Field set several NCCAA StandardsPublished by
ANGOLA, IN – The Spring Arbor University Track & Field team spent another afternoon in the friendly confines of Trine University and the Keith E. Busse / Steel Dynamics Athletic Recreation Center and the familiarity seems to be working for many of the Lady Cougars. Amanda Luurtsema led the sprints in the 60m placing third with a time of 8.13 and second in the 200m clocking 27.64. Her efforts earned her a trip to the NCCAA National Championship later this month. Ellie Reynolds finished third in the 60m Hurdles in 9.83 and fourth in the 200m in 28.06 and the 400m was led by Amanda Curtis (first), Andrea Finkbeiner (second), and Kelly Tripp (fourth) all three times bettered the NCCAA qualifying mark of 1:03.30. The 800m was won by Faith Gunderson in 2:23.18, followed by Rebecca Donker (third) and Sarah Fredrick (fourth). Freshman Danielle Anderson placed third in the mile with a time of 5:39.40 and the 3000m was won by Alison Kiekover. Lindsey Velich placed third and Elley Hinkel finished fourth in the 3000. The 4x200m relay team of Mallory Davis, Andrea Bogert, Andrea Ream & Brittany Ditzhazy won with a time of 1:59.42 and the 4x400m relay of A. Finkbeiner, Donker, Curtis & Tripp finished second in a season best time of 4:12.65. In Spring Arbor University Record Breaking performances, Grace Sallee set a new school record in the 20lb weight throw 37'2.25", and Vanessa Rogers set another new school record and sits at the top of the NAIA Pole vault list with a jump of 12' 0.5".
