WINONA LAKE, IN. – Spring Arbor placed fourth out of ten teams in their 8k League Championship race. Indiana Wesleyan, Taylor, and Goshen finished 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively. Three SAU runners placed in the top 15 and achieved all-league honors.

Kyle Anderson was the Crossroads League individual champion and led the Cougar pack. He finished with a time of 25:37. Kyle will be advancing to the NAIA Nationals Meet for the fourth time in his collegiate career.

Noah Haverdink was second for the cougars, placing tenth and running 27:18. It was a breakout race for Haverdink, who has worked hard throughout the season to come back from injury.

"It was a fun race and I finally felt like I was in shape again.  I kept pushing for the team and gutted it out to the end" said Haverdink.

The final Cougar to achieve all league status was Nathan Anderson, who finished 11th overall with a time of 27:22.

Jared Lauber was next for Spring Arbor, finishing in 24th place and a time of 27:47. Daniel Garza rounded out the top five for the cougars running 27:59 and placing 29th. Simon Reidsma, Peter Ramundo, and Tyler Babinec also competed for Spring Arbor placing 6th 7th and 8th on the team respectively.

"Even though fourth place was nobody's goal, I think we put together the best overall race effort of the season today" said Head Coach Dante Ottolini.

Despite his individual success, Anderson (Kyle) highlighted his team in his post-race interview.

"I have been really thankful for how the team has grown this season. It will be weird not being on a team of such high quality. Also, I am proud of them" said Anderson (Kyle).

While Spring Arbor's team season has reached a completion, Anderson (Kyle) will compete in two weeks at the NAIA Nationals Meet. National's is set to go off on November 3 in Rim Rock, Kansas.
