[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Lady Cougars finish fourth at the Crossroads League ...

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- It was a great day for the Women's Track and Field Team at the Crossroads League Championships placing fourth with 73 points.  Indiana Wesleyan won the meet with 253 pts. Bethel College was second with 159 points and Taylor University placed third with 121 points.

The Lady Cougars were led by Danae Dracht wining the 5K from start to finish, Faith Gunderson in the 800m in 2:18.85, and Rebecca Stefaniak placing 3rd in the Javelin both receive all League Honors. 

The Cougars showed massive improvements from a year ago scoring in 16 out of the 21 events.  Top eight places in each event score points in the Championship.

In the Women's 100m Hurdles Ellie Reynolds & Nikkie Redman finished seventh and eighth place.  Reynolds ran 16.06 in the Prelims placing her third on the all-time top ten list.

In the 4x800m Rebecca Donker, Amanda Curtis, Faith Gunderson, and Mary Lehman finished fourth with a time of 9:42.27. 

In the 100m dash Amanda Luurtsema clocked a 12.64 and Jessica Lee clocked 12.85 placing sixth and eighth in the finals. Luurtsema's time places her 4th on the all-time top ten list.  In the 200m, Luurtsema placed sixth with a time of 26.05 which lands her fifth on the all-time list. 

In the 10K, Alison Kiekover, Christina Anderson, and Lindsey Velich finished seventh, eighth, and ninth respectively with times of 42:45.46, 43:34.46, and 44:33.99.

For the first time in a long time the women's team had multiple throwers in the throwing events. The throwers were led by Grace Salle in the Discus placing tenth, and Rebecca Stefaniak placing third in the Javelin.

 Vanessa Rogers finished fourth in the Pole Vault with a jump of 11'3.75.

The Triple jump was a profitable event for Spring Arbor having three Cougars in the finals.  Kelly Tripp's performance breaks a 25 year old record held by Dawn Faler set in 1988. Tripp's jump traveled 35'3.  Tripp now has both the indoor and outdoor triple.  Andrea Finkbeiner finished seventh and Liz Brueggeman finished ninth to round out the triple jump.  Finkbeiner would come back in the Long jump and finish eighth.

In the High Jump, Kayla Finkbeiner placed sixth with a jump of 4'9.

The 4x100m Relay team of Ellie Reynolds, Amanda Luurtsema, Jessica Czinder, and Jessica Lee finished fourth with a time of 49.18

Kelly Tripp finished eighth in the 400m clocking 61.22.

In the 800m, Faith Gunderson clocked 2:18.85, good for second, and Rebecca Donker finished seventh with 2:22.71.

The 400m Hurdle was led by Nikkie Redman with a time of 1:09.03 placing her ninth on the All-time top ten list.
