[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Two record fall in Women's Track & Field

Comments

Two school records fell in the Spring Arbor University Women's Track & Field record books this week including the second oldest record in the books, the 5,000 meter run set by Kim Southworth back in 1982.

Southworth's time of 17:58.54 was eclipsed by senior Danae Dracht, who raced to the line in 17:54.13 at Grand Valley State University's Second Last Chance Meet in Grand Rapids.  Dracht came in sixth place in the race behind runners from Calvin College and Grand Valley State, both NCAA Div II schools.

The oldest record on the books for the women is the 100 Meter Dash set back in 1980 by Cilla Hoffman with a time of 11.89

Vanessa Rogers kept soaring higher and higher in the Pole Vault as the Cougar senior raised the bar all the way to 11'11 ¾".  Rogers owned the previous record at a height of 10'10 ½" that she set in 2013.

Rogers height qualified her for the NAIA National Championships, but a requirement for her to graduate is her Cross Cultural which she is taking this summer and her class leaves three days before the National Championships.
